What Kind of Namahage Crafts Can You Make?

At Gofu, you can choose from four different Namahage craft-making experiences.
Each activity takes around 15-30 minutes, making it perfect for families, couples, or solo travelers.

1. Namahage Figurine (Standing Type) – ¥1,000 (20 minutes)
2. Namahage Wall Decoration (Single Mask) – ¥850 (30 minutes)
3. Namahage Wall Decoration (Double Mask) – ¥1,500 (30 minutes)
4. Mini Deba Knife (Small Ornament) – ¥350 (15 minutes)

Do I Need a Reservation?

• Online reservations are available, but walk-ins are also welcome.
• Workshop hours: 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM / 1:00 PM – 4:30 PM (last entry)
• I visited without a reservation and was able to start immediately.

Making My Own Namahage Craft – A Fun and Unique Experience

For my experience, I chose the Namahage Wall Decoration (Double Mask),
which allowed me to make both a red and blue Namahage.

Step-by-Step Process

①Choose a base mask (red or blue)

②Create hair using yarn and cut it to your preferred length
③Paint the facial features and add details

Final Product

With the help of the friendly staff, I was able to create my own unique Namahage craft.
Each one has a slightly different personality, which makes it even more special.
This is a fantastic souvenir that will remind me of my trip to Oga.
